Moving to the red planet: Scout24 and National Geographic use virtual reality to show life on Mars
Berlin/Munich, December 01, 2016: How do people live on Mars in 2060? ImmobilienScout24, Scout24's digital real estate marketplace, will be showing a futuristic 3D penthouse on Mars for the launch of the six-part TV documentary "Mars" by National Geographic. A specially-designed exposé will make it possible to experience a 360° tour of the future property. Smartphone users can use virtual reality (VR) glasses to inspect the property for themselves.
Digital scavenger hunt to Mars
Is the parking space for my Mars rover included in the price? Is there a good connection to the nearest space capsule? How many Mbps come over the Mars fiber cable into the living room? Scout24 will provide creative answers to future questions about living on Mars via a cross-media scavenger hunt: the trip to the future starts on the Scout24 Facebookpage. The traveler then comes to the AutoScout24 online marketplace where he finds a rocket for his journey to Mars. Once he has landed there, he will be able to take a virtual tour of the Mars property at ImmobilienScout24.
First cooperation between Scout24 and National Geographic
"Scout24 is a digital company driven by innovation. This is also reflected in its cooperation with National Geographic: We can show our developments in proptech VR technology, thus building a bridge to the exciting future topic of 'Life on Mars'," said Christina Daniel, Head of Brand at ImmobilienScout24.
Karin Zipperling, Director of Marketing & Creative Services at FOX NETWORKS
GROUP GERMANY explained the added value of the collaboration: "The documentary series 'Mars' by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer is a fascinating mix of a science documentary and a fictional vision of the future. Our innovative cooperation with Scout24 will allow all users and fans to experience the colonization of the Red Planet interactively." The global event series "Mars" can be viewed on Sundays at 9 pm starting November 13, 2016 on National Geographic.
