Scout24 invites entries for the first Mobile Application Award for creative minds - last date for entries 31 December 2009

Munich, 18 November 2009 – Normally users search for the best match in the Scout24 marketplaces. Now the tables are turned. Because as of today Scout24 is searching – for the winner of the first Scout24 Mobile Application Awards.

The Mobile Application Award

Every entrant is given the task of coming up with an iPhone application for AutoScout24, one of the most-used online automobile exchanges in Europe. In the first round the students present their concept along with suggested implementations. A jury of experts, including Oliver Stauch, deputy Chief Editor of autohifi / naviconnect, and Dr. Martin Enderle, CEO of Scout24 Holding GmbH, will select the top 3 finalists from all the entries. They will then be allowed to finally program their applications – iPhones and Macs will of course be made available.

Entering the competition

Invitations have been sent out to about 20 German universities – among them TU Munich, LMU Munich, Bauhaus University of Weimar and RWTH Aachen – to enter for the award. Entries are welcomed from students on Computer Science and Media IT courses who have a weakness for iPhones and would like to help shape the future of the mobile Internet. Students are asked to enter without obligation on the form at www.scout24.com/award. Once entered they will be briefed and given competition papers. All entrants that have returned the papers by 31.12.2009 will be taking part in the official competition.

Total prize money of 4,500 euros

The 1st place in the award will receive 2,500 euros. 2nd and 3rd place will receive 1,500 euros and 500 euros respectively.
