Inspiring your best decisions. We connect people, cars and homes.

Scout24 is a leading operator of digital marketplaces for real estate and automobiles in Germany and other selected European countries. We operate the two well-known brands ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24.

The Scout24 marketplaces are digital pilots for all questions and decisions relating to real estate and cars. We make markets more transparent and efficient. Scout24 bundles individual additional services, such as creditworthiness information, the brokerage of relocation services or construction and car financing, in the Scout24 Consumer Services business unit.

Scout24's offers are tailored to the needs of searchers: from the AutoScout24 YouTube channel to the ImmobilienScout24 smartphone app - Scout24 is where the user is. This also benefits Scout24's business customers, whose offers are bundled on the marketplaces with the help of professional tools and innovative forms of advertising and communicated to the users of the platforms in a target-group-specific manner.

All this makes Scout24 what it is today: a strong partner for the best decisions in life.

History

The company was founded in 1998 by Beisheim Holding Schweiz AG. AutoScout24 and ImmobilienScout24 became the first online marketplaces. In the following year, the group expanded and launched FinanceScout24, JobScout24 and FriendScout24. In 2001, numerous other company locations were established, including in Italy and Spain. Just one year later, TravelScout24 went online, which is now operated by third parties under a licence and cooperation agreement. At that time, the individual marketplaces were already bundled under the umbrella brand Scout24.

In 2007, Deutsche Telekom AG became the sole shareholder of the Group and integrated the various marketplaces into the Scout24 holding company.

The JobScout24 activities were sold in 2011, with the trademark rights remaining with the Scout24 Group, which continues to generate license revenues from them.

At the beginning of 2014, Deutsche Telekom AG sold 70 percent of its Scout24 shares to Hellman & Friedman LLC. In the following one and a half years, Scout24 Switzerland, FriendScout24, Spontacts and Property Guru were sold under the leadership of the new shareholder and in the course of concentration on the two core business areas AutoScout24 and ImmobilienScout24. At the same time, various strategic acquisitions were made. These include Immobilien.net, a leading digital real estate marketplace in Austria, and FlowFact, a developer and provider of software solutions for customer relationship management for real estate agents.

In April 2015, Scout24 acquired Easyautosale, a leading digital trading platform for the sale of used cars. In the same year Scout24 went public and was listed in the SDAX.

The Group continued to grow - in particular through strategic acquisitions in new European markets. In February 2016, AutoScout24 acquired European AutoTrader B.V., the digital automobile display portal in the Netherlands. ImmobilienScout24 further expanded its reach in German-speaking countries with the acquisition of two real estate portals, my-next-home.de and immodirekt.at, in the summer of 2016. In August 2017, AutoScout24 took over the Austrian digital marketplace gebrauchtwagen.at.

The third business segment, Scout24 Consumer Services, was established at the beginning of 2018. The digital marketer Scout24 Media is also part of the new business segment. This offers advertisers use-based online advertising on ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24. Since 2018, Scout24 has also reported according to the three business segments in its balance sheet.

In June 2018, Scout24 was admitted to the MDAX of Deutsche Börse, making it one of the 60 largest companies below the DAX.

In July 2018, Scout24 acquired FINANZCHECK.de, one of the leading platforms for consumer financing in Germany.
