Scout24 is a leading operator of digital marketplaces specializing in the real estate and automotive sectors in Germany and other selected European countries. The Company operates two well-known and popular brands, ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24.

Scout24 marketplaces are far more than ad spaces. We are a digital guide for all real estate and automotive queries and decisions. We make markets more transparent and efficient. Scout24 products and services are customized to the needs of today’s consumers. From the AutoScout24 YouTube channel to the ImmobilienScout24 smart phone app, Scout24 is where the users are. Scout24 customers also benefit from this arrangement by having their products bundled onto the marketplaces and targeted to specific groups with the aid of professional tools and innovative advertising.

All of this makes Scout24 what it is today: a strong partner enabling people to make the best decision of their lives.


The enterprise was founded in 1998/1999 by Beisheim Holding Schweiz AG. AutoScout24 and ImmobilienScout24 were active as the first digital marketplaces in 1999. The group of companies expanded in the following year with the launch of FinanceScout24, JobScout24 and FriendScout24. In 2001, various other offices were set up, including in Italy and Spain. TravelScout24, which is today operated by third parties under a licensing and cooperation agreement, went online only one year later. At that time, the individual marketplaces were already held under the Scout24 umbrella brand.

In 2007, Deutsche Telekom AG became the group’s sole shareholder and integrated the various marketplaces in the Scout24 Holding.

In 2011, the JobScout24 business was sold; since then, only licensing revenues for the use of the brand remain within the Scout24 Group. 

In the beginning of 2014, a company which is ultimately owned by funds advised by affiliates of Hellman & Friedman LLC and of The Blackstone Group L.P., acquired 70 percent of the Group’s share capital from Deutsche Telekom AG. Under the direction of the new owners and as part of the strategy to concentrate on the two core market leading businesses AutoScout24 and ImmobilienScout24, the activities in Scout24 Switzerland, FriendScout24, Spontacts and Property Guru were exited in the course of the following one and a half years. Over the same period, a number of strategic investments, including (a leading real estate classifieds platform in Austria), FlowFact (which develops and sells Customer Relation Management solutions for real estate professionals) and Stuffle GmbH (the owner of an online digital marketplace for used items) were made. 

In April 2015, Scout24 acquired Easyautosale, which runs a leading automotive re-commerce site in Germany. FinanceScout24 remains as non-core business within the Group.

In June 2018 Scout24 was admitted to the MDAX of the German stock exchange, making it one of the 50 largest companies below the DAX.
