  • ImmoScout24 launches debate platform “Rethinking how we live”
  • Berlin Social Academy held for the seventh time
  • In 2020, the focus will be on effects on the environment and climate

Munich / Berlin, 2 April 2020 - Scout24, the operator of the leading German online platform ImmoScout24, has published its Sustainability Report 2019 under the title "Make it happen". In it, the digital company describes how it has further developed its sustainability management, what progress it has been able to make and what its future goals are. The complete sustainability report is available for download at https://report.scout24.com

Tobias Hartmann, CEO of Scout24 AG: “"Make it happen" stands for the next level of our commitment to sustainability, which we achieved last year. We are proud to have anchored the issue even more firmly in our business model and launched new initiatives. For us, success does not only mean increasing economic results. It also means continuously improving our non-financial performance indicators. Our goal for 2020: to make further progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.”

ImmoScout24 launches debate platform “Rethinking how we live”

Housing is one of the central social issues of our time. For this reason, ImmoScout24 launched the debate platform “Rethinking how we live” in December 2019. As a marketplace of opinions, the online platform is open to all interested citizens and interest groups to discuss their positions on the housing policy issues of our time. Since the launch of the platform, over 31 million contacts have already been made.

Local social commitment expanded

Scout24 has already been active at local level for many years at its locations in Berlin and Munich. The company sees knowledge transfer as an important form of social commitment. For this reason, Scout24 launched the Berlin Social Academy in 2013 - the first Berlin-wide cooperation project of the business community to support local civil society. The basic idea: Non-profit organizations and social start-ups learn from companies that make their expertise available pro bono. The Berlin Social Academy took place for the seventh time in 2019. The initiative is organised in partnership with BearingPoint, B.Z., Capgemini, Scholz & Friends Reputation, Scout24, the Volkswagen Group and Zalando. A total of 1,900 volunteers have already benefited from the Berlin Social Academy since 2013.

Outlook for 2020: Impacts on environment and climate will be a priority

In 2020, Scout24 will systematically determine its overall ecological footprint and implement targeted measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company has already made good progress in this area in 2019 and, for example, reduced emissions from business trips by around eight percent. The new Berlin office building, into which ImmoScout24 will move in autumn 2020, also meets the highest sustainability standards and will help to further reduce the consumption of resources.

The sustainability report was prepared in accordance with the international reporting standard of the Global Reporting Initiative.
